The article “Learners centered in TESOL" studied systematically and properly that inspired and motivated me to internalize some important concept that demonstrates paradigm-shifting in education particularly within the teaching and learning process. Advocacy is seen as what focuses on shifting roles from teachers to learners as stated by TESOL. As TESOL fundamental concepts are proposed that strongly claims on assigning the most and extensive role of learners in learning strategies what has been addressed stating meaningful, authentic, interactive, and TBLT concept within the learning procedure.
Through the article, I found, all these concepts are wonderful and innovative in fostering skill and knowledge what is practicable in the real world. As cognitive psychology, meaningful learning refers to learning what connects existing knowledge and adding innovative information through exploration. Motivation and encouragement are extremely emphasized in meaningful learning that learners identify their wants, motivated intrinsically to drive their needs as the perspective of cognitive disequilibrium. For stance, we are instructing text about Iron Man Ganesh Man Singh (Great leader of Nepal). We show a picture, activate learners, what they no already and what sorts of knowledge, they require to attach to existing knowledge, what drives them to accomplish their wants.
As the article, it is noted that learning should touch the meaning of the real world what supports in sustainable learning. Hence, the meaning is required in learning what obtains from engaging in learning recognizing needs and wants. Moreover, as the concept of authentic, it is a style of learning that encourages students to create a tangible, useful product to be shared with their world.” ( Steve Revington)
Wonderful and fruitful realization is occupied in cognition and affective domain that shows for reducing lectures and speech, extending discussion and interaction, promote a sense of colleagues between teachers and learners while heading in the learning journey. As Stanford University "Interactive learning actively engages the students in wrestling with the material. “This line shows that critical, creative, and problem-solving skills are fostered through interactive learning.
TBLT learning concept emerges from the attitudes and perspective of applied linguistic. Contextual and real-life-oriented tasks are essential to what motivates learners to feel relax and comfortable while performing an assignment and explore the meaning of learning in the real world. As TESOL, real learning what supports learners in their life for facing challenges, find solutions to problems, and establishing comfort circumstances.
I have been mirrored that learning is associated with real life and the real world that obtains from identifying learning ownership from the angle of intrinsic motivation.
